Installation Guide

  1. Disconnect Power: Ensure the engine is off and cool, then disconnect the battery terminals to prevent accidental starts.
  2. Drain Coolant: Place a container under the engine and carefully drain the coolant from the system.
  3. Locate Housing: Identify the thermostat housing on the engine block. It is typically a metal cover with a coolant hose attached.
  4. Remove Housing: Loosen and remove the bolts securing the thermostat housing. Gently tap the housing if it's stuck, but avoid prying.
  5. Remove Old Thermostat: Lift out the old thermostat and its gasket or seal. Note its orientation.
  6. Clean Surfaces: Thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces of the housing and engine block, removing all old gasket material and corrosion.
  7. Install New Thermostat: Place the new thermostat into the engine block in the correct orientation. Install the new gasket or seal.
  8. Reassemble: Re-attach the housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
  9. Refill Coolant: Reconnect all hoses and refill the cooling system with the appropriate type and amount of coolant.
  10. Check for Leaks: Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and let it warm up. Carefully check for any coolant leaks around the housing.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this fits my engine?
The best way to confirm fitment is by matching your engine's serial number to the ranges listed in the "Compatible Engine Models" table. Also, compare your original part to our product images and the listed OEM replacement numbers (855676004, 8M0175321, 8M6010296) to ensure a match.

What are the symptoms of a failing thermostat?
Common signs include the engine overheating or, conversely, not reaching its proper operating temperature. You may also notice fluctuating temperature gauge readings or poor engine performance.

Why is the 60°C/140°F temperature rating important?
This specific temperature rating ensures your engine warms up quickly and maintains the optimal temperature for efficient combustion, performance, and longevity, as designed by the manufacturer.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Very useful
Works great on polar fleece. I also use it gently on. My jeans to get rid of dig hair. Speaking of dog hair, I have been known to run this gently over the dog's coat.works great for that too.

Works great, faux fur blanket is like new again!
Just used this on a faux fur pet blanket that I have had for 2 years and never brushed. It worked amazingly! Since it was so matted it took a bit to do the whole blanket (50” x 40”) but short strokes got it looking like new very easily. Some fibers came out in the brushing along with pet hairs, but the rug shedding was minimal.

O. M. G. It worked so great!
First, let me say, I'm not getting paid for this. This is personal experience. I was about to discard this rug. 1. It's old, like 13 years old. 2. It's been in storage for 4 years. 3. It's matted, as you can see in the pictures. 4. It's brown. Them I saw how much rugs are!😳So I had to come up with something. This was cheap to see if I could salvage it and not spend over $100 on a new rug. The dirt and lint that came out was gross. But as you can see, I was able to make it look new-ish again. I'm keeping the rug and this brush! I have other sheepskin rugs that are smaller and brand new, so this will come in handy.

Recommend
Worx better than expected. Much improved the appearance and texture after washing & drying my 6 sheepskin pelts and three faux sheepskin pelts. There’s always a natural shedding after a cleaning, but this DEFINITELY decreases those incidents I recommend.

POLYESTER?!?!
Color: Ivory, Size: 2' x 3' (Pelt), Color: Ivory, Size: 2' x 3' (Pelt)
POLYESTER?!?! So i just bought several of these. Nice and big and fluffy, looked very clean, very nice. Cats instantly were scared/curious. The back of the skin, the wool, all looked nice, and then I noticed it had a tag on it... The tag says... 100% POLYESTER! What?!?!? This is supposed to be New Zealand Sheep Skin pelt! Shouldnt be any Polyester at all. So, just before I was about to return it, i did a small burn test. I cut off a small bunch of hair and burned it. The fire tried to light but it quickly extinguished itself. And the smell... yes... the smell told me it is REAL WOOL and the fact the fire went out right away also confirms this is not oil based. THIS IS REAL, This is NOT Polyester. I guess also a lot of ppl are returning because of the tag, so these are at a HUGE DISCOUNT!!! BUY THEM UP!!! They also came in vacuum packed bags, looked nice and kept very nice. These are excellent! See my photos, the tag, the burned bunch of hair... fire went out, i tried it three times, fire kept instantly going out... smells organic like animal hair when burned, not like oil/polyester. ENJOY!!! I PAID FOR THESE, I was not given anything here!
