Historical Context of The Seine in Paris

Late 19th Century Paris: An Artistic Revolution

The Seine in Paris was painted during a transformative period in the late 19th century. This era marked the rise of modern art, where traditional techniques began to blend with innovative styles. Paris became a vibrant hub for artists, writers, and thinkers, fostering a creative environment that encouraged experimentation. The city's bustling streets and picturesque riverbanks inspired countless masterpieces, making it a focal point for artistic expression.

Paul Gauguin: The Visionary Behind the Canvas

Paul Gauguin, born in 1848, was a pivotal figure in the Post-Impressionist movement. He sought to break away from the constraints of Impressionism, focusing on bold colors and symbolic content. Gauguin's journey took him from France to Tahiti, but his early works, like The Seine in Paris, reveal his deep connection to the city. His unique perspective and innovative approach to art set him apart from his contemporaries.

Influences of Impressionism on Gauguin's Work

Gauguin was heavily influenced by the Impressionist movement, which emphasized light and color. However, he diverged from their techniques by incorporating more vivid colors and emotional depth. The Seine in Paris showcases this blend, as Gauguin captures the essence of the river and its surroundings with a fresh, expressive style. His work reflects the Impressionists' focus on capturing fleeting moments while adding his own distinctive flair.

Great product, bad packaging
Style: SPF 50, Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
I love this sunscreen! I use it on myself and my child and it works very well. However, the spray nozzle on one of the cans is locked and it will not work. I have tried to turn the lock, lift it up, etc., to no avail. This item is also not returnable. $20 for 1 can of sunscreen is quite expensive.

Great product
Style: SPF 50, Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
Product is great with good coverage and ease of use. Much better than comparable products because it is very light feeling and doesn't leave a heavy or sticky residue on your skin. Perfect protection for anyone who burns easily or fair skinned. However I paid for the extra rushed 3 day shipping and it was delayed and I wasn't reimbursed the extra shipping charges even though it arrived 6 days later.

Save your money- don’t buy
Style: SPF 50, Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
Purchased this for our trip to Mexico. At two cruise ports we were doing a combination snorkel and pool day. I got this sunscreen because it was reef friendly and came with two bottles. Both bottles were IMPOSSIBLE to spray. You could not sunscreen yourself because you had to hold the bottle just right, push down with extreme force, and have your fingers place very specifically on the lid. My 13 year old and husband couldn’t even use the bottles. I did figure it out so I had to continually sunscreen everyone in the family. No one in my family has sensitive skin, but we all ended up with a fine rash after using this sunscreen. On days prior we used another brand and no one had a problem. We also reapplied often (every 60-90 min) and we still got pretty burnt. Maybe we got a bad batch…

Good sunscreen
This sunscreen works well, and has coconut oil base, which is good for your skin. The cans have an adequate amount in them, but I would also like to see something twice their size, if that's possible.
