Wolves is a strategic game in which you lead your own pack of wolves. You try to claim territories, expand your pack, develop your pack's traits, build dens and hunt prey. All of those things provide benefits and victory points in different ways.

Your turns are controlled by double-sided terrain tiles. Each turn you turn over a number of them depending on the chosen action. You may then perform an action on a space of that terrain, provided it is within range of your wolves. This way you can move your wolves, build shelters to improve the properties of your pack, or upgrade your shelters to dens.

However, some actions can only be performed with your alpha wolves and unfortunately you don't have many of them. You score the most points by checking certain areas when the moon reaches a certain position. You need most of the pieces in such an area for this. Because there are only 2 playing pieces allowed per field, fierce competition arises between the different packs of players.

Wolves is a very thematic and challenging board game. The interaction between the packs and the variable playing field ensure that you have to explore new strategies and possibilities time and again to win. The beautiful artwork and wooden wolves provide an intense gaming experience.
