Im facettenreichen fotografischen Werk von Turner-Preisträger Wolfgang Tillmans (*1968 in Remscheid) haben in den letzten Jahren abstrakte Arbeiten erheblich an Bedeutung gewonnen. Nach den sprühfleckigen Blushes-Bildern, den raumgreifenden Arbeiten der Freischwimmer-Reihe sowie den monochromen Silver-Prints behandeln auch seine neueren abstrakten Arbeiten – am konsequentesten hier die »geknickten« Lighter, die seit 2005 entstanden sind – das Foto nicht mehr als Abbildungsmedium, sondern als materielles Objekt. In Tillmans paper drops wird dieser reale Bildträger in wunderschönen, grafisch anmutenden Kompositionen dargestellt und damit ebenfalls »greifbar«.Diese jüngsten Werke, die beständig zwischen Fotografie und Objekt oszillieren, sind in dem neuen Buch von Wolfgang Tillmans erstmals zusammengefasst. Neu an diesem Buch sind auch die vom Künstler selbst fotografierten Ansichten seiner Ausstellungen, die ein direktes Erfahren des tillmansschen Bilderkosmos möglich macht, wie er sich zuletzt auf seiner grossen Museums-Tournee durch die USA entfaltet hat.

Love the sheets but GOSH THEY STINK

I have the dark green sheets and bought these for extra cases to match. I would give them 5 stars if it weren’t for the fact that they smell absolutely horrible. I am so surprised after reading reviews that more people don’t mention it?! Maybe it’s more prominent in darker colors but I have washed these now 3 different times even with scent beads and still hate the smell. I wish I could accurately describe what it smells like— it’s just not good and for some reason, body heat only exacerbates it and makes the smell even worse and I wake up feeling like a smell like the sheets… which isn’t a good thing.
Besides that, I do really enjoy them. They feel great on your skin and I love the color. I wish the smell didn’t kill them so badly for me ☹️

Comfy soft pillow covers

These Bamboo Pillowcases Made Me Realize I Sleep Hot

I bought these mostly because I kept hearing people talk about bamboo pillowcases and honestly thought it sounded a little overhyped, but I totally get it now. The first thing I noticed was how cool they felt compared to regular cotton. I tend to get warm when I sleep and flip my pillow a million times during the night looking for the cold side, and these actually stay noticeably cooler longer.
They also feel really soft without having that weird slippery texture some silky pillowcases have. My skin has been less irritated lately and my hair definitely looks less frizzy in the mornings. I have thick hair that tangles easily overnight, and these have helped more than I expected.
Another thing I appreciate is that they’ve washed well so far. I was worried they’d pill or lose softness after a wash cycle, but they still feel smooth and nice. They also just make the bed feel cleaner and more comfortable overall. One of those small upgrades that ends up making a bigger difference than you’d think.
