Dieses individuelle Armband aus Leder und Borosilikatglas wurde von mir mit Liebe am Brenner handgefertigt.

Die Perle wurde bei über 1000° in der Flamme geformt. Das Armband lässt sich mit Hilfe der Knoten in der Größe verstellen. Ein besonderes und klassisches Schmuckstück das im Sonnenlicht strahlt. Die graue Farbe schimmert sehr weich auf der Haut.

Ein besonderes Stück mit Seele. Lässt sich auch gut mit anderen Armbändern kombinieren. Ein schönes Geschenk zum Valentinstag, für deine beste Freundin, liebste Schwester, für die tollste Mama zum Muttertag oder einfach für dich selbst.

Jede Perle ist ein Unikat. Dieses Armband wird nur in einer kleinen Serie gefertigt und jedes Stück ist ganz besonders und weicht immer minimal in der Form ab. Sie werden alle mit der gleichen Sorgfalt wie die hier abgebildete hergestellt. Alle Objekte von KLAPPERGLAS werden von mir am Brenner aus Borosilikatglas gefertigt und fachgerecht spannungsfrei herunter gekühlt, um die bestmögliche Festigkeit und Haltbarkeit zu gewährleisten.

Die Geschichte dieses Schmuckstücks beginnt in den 60er Jahren als mein Großvater in der Flaschenproduktion in einer Glashütte im Ruhrgebiet tätig war. Nach getaner Arbeit fertigte er aus Glasresten Schalen und Kerzenhalter. Auf Omas Häkeldecken schillerten sie dann im Sonnenlicht. Heute stehen sie auf meinem Tisch. In meiner Kindheit begeisterten mich diese Objekte meines Opas immer wieder und hier begann meine Liebe zum Glas.

The key to writing a Camino book--at least from this reader's perspective--it to have a well-written, well-edited, and unique personal account of the adventure. I've read many Camino books that lack these three elements. WTTEOTW has all three elements and is a great addition to anyone's Camino library. The book is paced nicely and makes for an easy read. I was amused that the author had spent considerable time preparing for this trip yet seemed not to have absorbed some important information prior to the trip--e.g. appropriate footwear, the scramble for nightly accommodations, the frustrations that commonly occur while traveling in unfamiliar cultures. Her adjustments along the way provide humor and insight into preparing for things we've not yet experienced in our own lives.

I'm thinking of doing the French route myself (starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port) and have been inhaling other people's stories of the route, whether blog or book form. The writing is engaging, and both funny and touching in places. I liked that the author is willing to note her own faults as much of those of others', but noted the strengths of herself and everyone around her as well. And her love for her husband jumped off the page, which I really appreciated! About halfway through the author's time in Spain I found myself on google maps--a surprising portion of the Camino is available on street view!--and yeah, now I *really* want to go. I'm thinking spring of 2023. Fingers crossed. EDIT: I read the book and wrote this review in late fall of 2021. It is currently March of 2023. I'm flying to France on April 17th, to start in St. Jean Pied de Port. :D EDIT, number two: The Camino was awesome, and I will probably do it again in a few years, and it was fun to reread this book after doing the Camino and be able to remember so many of the places she talks about. <3

I've walked to Santiago twice, in 2016 at 65 from St. Jean and in 2019 from Le Puy and bought the book during the pandemic as I waxed nostalgic for the weeks on the road under load with beer bread and bed waiting each afternoon. Beth did a marvelous job of capturing her Camino and much of mine. I can see some of the sights again, the sunrises, the amazing stonework, the clothes drying in the afternoons, the passers by, the cultivated for centuries and still natural landscapes. I almost again feel the foot pain, the rain , the sun, the climbs, the descents, the hot cold on off showers, and the hugs. She helped me again hear the news from Radio Camino, the snoring in the gites and albergues, songs on the road, and the slightly tipsy and slightly loud cafe conversations. I could smell the the morning coffee bowl, the cheeses, the pastries, the animal dropping. And she helped me remember speedy young pilgrims, poor and semi-prosperous middle age Spaniards, paths that were old when followed by Charlemagne, D'Artagnan, and Roman legionnaires, and friends, companions and acquaintancesof all ages and duration. Perhaps because of Justino's background, this is by far the most interesting and entertaining Camino story I've read. For me, it is just the right mix of her daily hiking experience along with a little historical background for context. Her subtle, sometimes self-degrading, humor is a bonus. At the end of the book she provided her daily destinations and miles walked along with a packing list which is something I wish more authors would provide.
